Pinkerton is a former member of the NFDA Executive Committee, former chairman of NFDA's Occupational & Environmental Issues Committee, and a past president of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association. He currently serves as vice chairman of the Pennsylvania State Board of Funeral Directors.
