The Great Debate: Who Should Sell Preneed?

How much more ground can funeral directors afford to lose?

Written by Alan D. Creedy

In July 2001, Alan Creedy, president of Trust 100, an independent preneed marketer, participated in "The Preneed Prizefight," a debate hosted by NFDA at its Leadership Conference about whether the sale of preneed should be limited to licensed funeral directors. In the article The Great Debate: Who Should Sell Preneed?, Creedy offers his argument why the debate about who should sell funerals is pointless and divisive. He states that the debate distracts the funeral service profession from the real issues that threaten its future viability.
