NFDA Home > Advocacy > Current Funeral Service Issues > Does Your Firm Have a CAGE Code?
Any funeral home that is awarded a contract from the U.S. Government must have a valid CAGE (Company Acting as a Government Entity) Code. Funeral Homes that simply serve families and are paid the normal federal secondary funeral and burial expense benefits are not required to have a CAGE Code. NFDA has been asked by the Department of Defense for a list of funeral homes that have a CAGE Code and code number so it can compile a database of those firms to expedite payment. If your firm has a CAGE Code, please advise John Fitch at jfitch@nfda.org.
