Travel Information
Weather: Spring in Hong Kong is one of the nicest times to visit. Expect temperatures to be in the 60's and 70's for the most part with some rain.
Shopping: Hong Kong is famous for its custom-made suits. For the highest quality, one can have a men's or women's suit tailor-made for about $300-$350 (a $1,000 cost in the U.S.) and these can be made very quickly, usually before you head home. Custom-made shirts ($25-$35) are also great prices. Jewelry and electronics are also great buys. Hong Kong is a shopper's mecca!!
Health: No vaccinations are required for Hong Kong. Always consult your own physician for recommendations for your personal health needs. In the areas we are visiting, there are no concerns for health.
Money: You will bring U.S. cash in small denominations. The Hong Kong dollar is the official currency equivalent to approximately 8 HK dollars to one US dollar. Major credit cards are accepted in most hotels and large stores (not Discover Card).
Time Difference: The time in Hong Kong is 15 hours later than Pacific Time, 14 hours from Mountain Time, 13 hours from Central Time and 12 hours from Eastern Standard Time.
